Standard RACER
Overview
A Singles Solution for Every Rowing Club
Simply stated, the Standard racer sets the standard for durability, speed and ease of rowing in the club racing single. Designed for versatility, speed and endurance, it combines strong, low weight composite materials with highly adjustable hardware to make it an excellent boat for every day rowing and racing.
"I designed the Standard Racer to provide rowing clubs with a raceable single: a good, durable boat that stands up well over time. To date it has proven true to its goal. I sold eleven of them to one club ten years ago and they have lasted a long time. They have proven to be an effective and successful boat for club racing. The proof is also there in how many races they have won."
– Jürgen Kaschper, boat designer
The Standard is Levator’s top selling boat largely because it is an effective balance between performance, adjustability and price. Levator’s innovative manufacturing processes, including the use of vinylester resins, circumvent the need for high cost heating ovens. The final outcome of these techniques are strong composite boats that are distortion free in temperatures up to 350 degrees F, but perhaps more importantly these production cost savings are reinvested back into other areas of the boat construction to gain higher performance:
"We’re able to apply these savings into far superior components and materials. For example, in the Standard Racer there is a lot of good carbon in the hull that is better than anything else on the market. For the reinforcements we use carbon-kevlar – high-modulus carbon. For the hardware, the rigging, and the footstretchers we are able to use high-quality, highly-configurable components and still keep the price of the boat down to an affordable figure."
– Jürgen Kaschper, boat designer
On the water, the Standard Racer is a comfortable and forgiving boat. The hull design was recently upgraded to combine Kevlar and carbon fibre to get the best of both world’s: stiffness and resilience. Not only does this make the boat stronger but it makes it lighter and faster without compromising it’s stability.
"I like what I do"– Jürgen Kaschper

Testimonials
I wanted to convey the joy I get from my daily rows on the Racer and thank you for your craftsmanship. Very few inanimate objects rival the pleasure I derive from tooling around in the shell.
Back in 2002 I purchased it. If you're ever in the area, let me know and we can grab a beer or some dinner. I'll probably swing by the Head of the Charles for one of the two days, merely as a spectator/shopper. Will you be there? I hope all is well and your business is prospering.

Thanks for the time on Saturday. I love the boat. The maiden voyage went flawlessly.
I am excited.

Now that I've rowed my "new" boat, I can let you know that it is amazing! I love it. I'll try and remember to bring my camera next time...should have this morning, the lake was like glass.

I received my levator single spring of 2007 and was estatic because of the design. Never being in a single before and being able to set the shell up was surprising. The smoothness of run in the shell, and power you feel is amazing. Keep up the good work.

Although I've had my new boat for about a month, last night was the first time I could take Wasser Drache out for its maiden voyage! Wind, current, and water depth were finally just right. It was a great row! The boat and I had a great connection and everything "clicked."
Ducks and Canadian geese swam around as I rowed and a fly even hitched a ride with me...it landed on my stern and stayed there during the entire row!!! It is an amazing difference finally being in a boat that fits me...I don't have to overcompensate now! For example, I can pull the oars into my navel instead of high into my chest. I especially like how the smooth deck curves down behind my ankles...usually the backs of my legs get beat up from rubbing on the rough edges of other boats. I also really like the step-down (makes getting out very easy and a great place for my water bottle), the handle, and I felt very stable going out in it for the first time. I'll have to play around with tweaking the adjustments to get everything just right, but I love it and had an instant bond with it! Oh, I also got lots of compliments on the color!
Thanks so much for the beautiful boat!

Thanks Joe is BEAUTIFUL!!! And the rigger is like its own work of art. I used to do metal sculpture in the old days and I always love anything made of metal and I had to just keep stroking it! Love that my name is on it as well.
Al, the truck driver was great...such a nice guy. Kept me very informed as to his whereabouts.
